The Blue Springs Power Cats are a Board-Governed 501(c)(3) founded by Kevin Bigham.
The Power Cats officially began practice on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the Wildcat Aquatic Center.
September 30 - October 1, 2023, the Power Cats competed in their first USA Swimming Meet at the BWST October Invitational in Platte, MO. Parker Sullins swam the very first race for the Power Cats. Lexi Weems (50 Free, 100 Free) and Vanessa Van Hoesen (200 Free) became the first BSPC swimmers to win an event at a USA Swimming Meet.
At the TSA Frosty Frolic on December 2, 2023, Christopher Groom (25 Freestyle & 25 Backstroke) became the first BSPC male swimmer to win an event at a USA Swimming Meet.
February 9-11, 2024, the following athletes were the first BSPC swimmers to compete at the Missouri Valley District Meet: Kate Finucane, Clare Finucane, Elle Pealer, Brooke Rippe, Melody Murdick & Augustino Segalo.
February 22-25, 2024, the following athletes were the first BSPC swimmers to compete at a Missouri Valley Championship Meet: Lexi Weems & Vanessa Van Hoesen.
On May 8, 2024, Lexi Weems became the first BSPC swimmer to sign to swim collegiately (Southwest Minnesota State). Later that season, Weems became the first BSPC swimmer to compete collegiately whlie also becoming the first BSPC swimmer to break a team record at their respective college.
On March 7, 2025, Owen Johnson, Wells Ramler, Cason Ramler & Parker Sullins (400 Freestyle Relay) earned the first top-three finish for BSPC at a Missouri Valley Championship Meet.
August, 2025, Cayden Sutphin (William Jewell College) & Anthony Araujo (Rockhurst University) became the first BSPC male swimmers to compete collegiately.
December, 2025, Wells Ramler & Owen Johnson become the first Missouri Valley All-Stars in BSPC history.
