Kevin Bigham - Team President / BSPC Head Coach / Head Age Group Coach
Swam in the Missouri Valley (LSC) beginning at the age of 6
Currently holds the Kansas City Blazers Team Record for the 8-under 25 Yard Breaststroke.
Ranked in the top 16 in the country multiple times as an age-group swimmer.
Qualified for Region VIII Sectionals for the first time as a 13-year-old and was a multi-year A-finalist in multiple events.
Earned a spot at the USA Swimming - National Select Distance Camp in 2002 and 2003.
Qualified for USA Swimming 18 & Under Nationals as a Junior and Senior for the KC Blazers.
Team Captain for the KC Blazers as a Senior.
Voted as sole Missouri Valley Swimming Athlete Delegate for Class of 2007. Attended the USA Swimming National Convention in the falls of 2005 and 2006.
All-Conference/All-Area/All-Metro/All-State/All-American Swimmer for Blue Springs High School. As a Freshman, was the team’s second-leading individual scorer at state (25 points) for the only state championship team in BSHS Boys Swim/Dive history (2004).
Swam in the same preliminary heats as Olympic Gold Medalists Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte, Aaron Piersol, and Matt Grevers at the 2007 and 2008 USA Swimming Grand Prix Meets in Columbia, MO.

Shaun Van Hoesen - Senior Head Coach
Competed for Team Dolphins and Team Swim Academy in the Missouri Valley LSC as an age-group swimmer.
All-State/All-Conference Swimmer for Blue Springs High School.
Served as Team Captain for Blue Springs High School during Head Coach Kevin Bigham’s first season at BSHS (2017).

Alexis Pierce - Senior Associate Head Coach - Will be back for the Summer of 2025!
Swam under Coach Bigham at Blue Springs High School from 2017-2021.
Team Captain for BSHS in 2021.
Earned All-Conference and was a state qualifier for BSHS.
Swam collegiately at Bethel University from 2022-2023.
Swam in Consolation Finals of the 400 IM, 200 Breaststroke, and 200 Butterfly at the 2023 Mid South Conference Championship Swim/Dive Meet.

Currently swims collegiately at Eastern Illinois University.
Alexis will coach for the Power Cats for the next 3 summers. Alexis will continue competing for Eastern Illinois until she graduates in 2026. Once Alexis graduates, she will join the Power Cats full-time.

Kelsea White - Age-Group Coach
All-Conference/All-Area-All-State/All-American swimmer for Blue Springs High School from 2006-2009.
Was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2023 as part of the Blue Springs High Swim/Dive Program after helping the Wildcats win multiple state championships.
Began teaching private swim lessons in 2005.
Coached for Team Dolphins (an old USA Swimming Team) & the Blue Springs Sharks from 2005-2009.

Qualified for HS State Championship Meet (Iowa) all four years while competing for Grinnell HS (3x Swimming, 1x Diving).
Started competing for the Grinnell Swim Club (USA Swimming Team) at 4 years old.
4-time NCAA Swim/Dive Meet Qualifier (Diving) for Truman State University (1984-87).
4-time First Team All-Conference at Truman State University (1984-87).
