The Blue Springs Power Cats Swim Team is committed to offering a swimming program that is both accessible and affordable for our community. In an effort to maintain transparency and professionalism, we have established a clear payment process and set of policies, which are outlined below:
Emerging Swimmers Group:
Monthly Fees:
$50/month for swimmers enrolled in a Blue Springs School District school. (June 2023 is $30 due to a shortened schedule)
$100/month for swimmers who are NOT enrolled in a Blue Springs School District school. (June 2023 is $60 due to a shortened schedule)
USA Swimming Membership Fees:
All USA Swimming Membership Fees should be paid at USA Swimming's website. You can learn more about this process on our USA Swimming Membership Fee page (CLICK HERE).
$30 for 2023 if the athlete is 12 years old or younger.
$80 for 2023 if the athlete is 13 years old or older.
****Blue Springs Power Cats Swimmers will not be able to register with USA Swimming until May 30th, 2023.****
Swim Meets Beginning Fall 2023
USA Swimming Meets will have entry fees for each event a swimmer competes in.
USA Swimming Meets might also have a participation meet for attending the meet.
Meet Entry Fees and Participation Fees will be paid on the USA Swimming website.
Advanced Swimmers Group:
Monthly Fees (3 Days Per Week - Purple Option):
$55/month for swimmers enrolled in a Blue Springs School District school.
$110/month for swimmers who are NOT enrolled in a Blue Springs School District school.
Monthly Fees (All Workouts - Gold Option):
$75/month for swimmers enrolled in a Blue Springs School District school.
$150/month for swimmers who are NOT enrolled in a Blue Springs School District school.
USA Swimming Membership Fees:
All USA Swimming Membership Fees should be paid at USA Swimming's website. You can learn more about this process on our USA Swimming Membership Fee page (CLICK HERE).
$30 for 2023 if the athlete is 12 years old or younger.
$80 for 2023 if the athlete is 13 years old or older.

Annual Payment Incentive - One Month FREE:
As part of our Payment Process and Policies, we are excited to introduce an annual payment plan that rewards swimmers with one month free when they pay for the entire year up front. This option is available for all three BS Power Cats Training Groups: Advanced Group - Purple, Advanced Group - Gold, and Emerging Swimmers Group. Payments can be made online via our website (BSPower Cats.com) using PayPal or by check made payable to "Blue Springs Power Cats Swim Team".
Annual Payment Plan Details:
Advanced Group Purple:
BSSD-enrolled students pay for all 10 months upfront at $55 per month ($550 total) and receive the 11th month free.
Non BSSD-enrolled students pay for all 10 months upfront at $110 per month ($1100 total) and receive the 11th month free.
The Advanced Group - Purple does not swim during the month of August.
Advanced Group - Gold:
BSSD-enrolled students pay for 10 months upfront at $75 per month ($750 total) and receive the 11th month free.
Non BSSD-enrolled students pay for all 10 months upfront at $150 per month ($1500 total) and receive the 11th month free.
The Advanced Group - Gold does not swim during the month of August.
*Anyone competing in High School Swimming will have the option of paying for 7 months up front while receiving the 8th month free (this will allow the swimmer to miss 3 months during HS season and still receive a discount for paying for the year upfront).
Emerging Swimmers Group:
BSSD-enrolled students pay for 9 months up front at $50 per month ($450 total) and receive the 10th month free.
BSSD-enrolled students pay for 9 months up front at $100 per month ($900 total) and receive the 10th month free.
The Emerging Swimmers Group does not swim in April or August.
Payments Due on the First Day of Each Month:
If you cannot pay the entire fee annually, there is a monthly option which might provide more flexibility. Payments can be made online via our website (BSPower Cats.com) using PayPal or by check made payable to "Blue Springs Power Cats Swim Team".
A late fee of $10 will be applied to any payment received after the 10th of the month.
If a swimmer fails to pay for two consecutive months, they will no longer be allowed to practice with the team until all outstanding fees are settled.
Any disingenuous attempts at payment may result in removal from the team.
Refund Policy:
No refunds will be issued for missed practices or for swimmers who decide to discontinue their membership after they have paid their monthly dues.
Cancellation Policy:
The Blue Springs Power Cats Swim Team aims to provide flexibility and fairness to our members when it comes to cancellation. As such, we have established the following cancellation policy:
To cancel your membership, you must provide written notice to the Head Coach before the first day of the month for which you wish to cancel.
If you submit your cancellation notice before the first day of the month, you will not be charged for that month.
If you fail to provide written notice of cancellation before the first day of the month, you will be charged for the entire month, and no partial refunds or credits will be issued.
Cancellation notices can be submitted via email, in person, or through the communication channels specified on the Blue Springs Power Cats Swim Team website.
Out of Water Policy:
The Blue Springs Power Cats Swim Team recognizes the importance of flexibility for all of our swimmers, who may face additional commitments and responsibilities throughout the year. To accommodate everyone’s needs while maintaining a structured training environment, we have developed the following Out of Water Policy:
If your child will not be swimming in the upcoming month, you must provide a written or an electronic notice (E-Mail) by the first of that month to avoid being billed for that month. For example, if your child will not be swimming in April, we must receive written notice no later than April 1st. Otherwise, you will be charged the monthly fee for April.
In case of an injury or illness that requires your child to be out of the water and off dry land for 30 days or more, the fees for that month can be credited with a note from the doctor. The note must state the reason and the time period for being out.
To make your notice official and exempt you from the month's fee, send an email to admin@bspowercats.com. Informing the coach alone does not serve as official notification.
Out of Water Policy for High School Swimmers:
The Blue Springs Power Cats Swim Team recognizes the importance of flexibility for our high school swimmers who compete and train with their schools for three months during the official MSHSAA Swim/Dive Season. To accommodate these athletes, we have developed the following Out of Water Policy specifically for high school swimmers:
During the High School Season (Boys: August - November; Girls: November - February), most swimmers will only train/compete with their High School Team during High School Swim Season.
During HS season, if you are competing for your school and you do NOT want to swim for the BSPC, you will not be charged monthly dues for the time you are in high school season.
All BSPC Swimmers competing for their Girls HS Swim Team can train with the BSPC throughout the first week of November without paying the monthly fee. (this is because Girls HS Swim/Dive begins the second week of November)
If you plan on training and/or competing with the BS Power Cats while you are training/competing with your high school team, you will pay a discounted rate.
You will be able to attend as many BSPC workouts as you want for $20/month during your high school season (Boys: Sept & Oct; Girls: Nov, Dec, Jan)
*The Coaching Staff will communicate with all Blue Springs Power Cats who plan on swimming for their high school team to see which option they want to go with.
Returning to the Blue Springs Power Cats:
If a swimmer wants to return to the Blue Springs Power Cats after an extended break, they need to contact Head Coach Kevin Bigham to arrange a plan to return. Please see the following policies regarding swimmers returning to the Blue Springs Power Cats after an extended break:
Swimmers who are returning to the Blue Springs Power Cats should notify the coaching staff as soon as they know they are going to return.
If the swimmer joins in the middle of the month, only a prorated monthly fee will be charged for that specific month. After the first month, the swimmer will be charged the full monthly fee.
If the swimmer joins after the “10th of the month” and before the “20th of the month”, the swimmer will receive a 25% discount on the monthly fee for just that month.
If a swimmer joins after the “20th of the month”, the swimmer will receive a 50% discount on the monthly fee for just that month.
****A discount for starting in the middle of the month is only applicable if the swimmer is new or is coming back from an absence of at least 2 months.****
High School Swimmers
Boys High School Swimmers who want to join/rejoin the BS Power Cats after Boys Season are encouraged to begin training with the Power Cats in November (after state).
There will be a discounted rate in the month of November for swimmers who competed in Boys HS Season.
HS Swim Team Boys - Purple Option - $20 for the month of November
HS Swim Team Boys - Gold Option - $35 for the month of November
There will be a discounted rate in the month of February for swimmers who competed in Girls HS Season.
HS Swim Team Girls - Purple Option - $20 for the month of February
HS Swim Team Girls - Gold Option - $35 for the month of February
All monthly fees will return to normal following the first month.
Maintaining Communication:
It is crucial for the swimmer and their family to maintain open communication with the coaching staff during the absence period. This includes updating the coaches on any changes in the swimmer's plans or providing updates on their progress during the absence, if applicable.
